Deforestation has shown to contribute between 12-20% greenhouse gas emissions that worsen the current trend of global warming. This has led to a call for action as the increased in temperature coupled with dryer weather will eventually leads to more forest fires and destroying the ecosystem further. Preserving the current tropical forest is a must to prevent a dystopian future for our species, as a whole.
