The Peril of Fast Fashion

IMG_2931 - Zeidan Naqeeb.jpeg

Fast fashion suffocate our planet by polluting rivers and sea, and quickly filling up landfills with ever fleeting trend.

Fast fashion leads to global pollution, driving chemical runoff, plastic waste, and excessive carbon emissions. Synthetic fibers runoffs accounts for 35% of the microplastics in oceans, while textile dyeing contaminates freshwater supplies. The industry produces over 92 million tonnes of textile waste annually, making it one of the most environmentally destructive sectors. Embracing circular fashion through recycling, repairing, and resale; shifting to sustainable fabrics and non-toxic dyeing processes. Consumers also play a role by supporting ethical brands, buying less, and reusing more. Together, these can curb the toxic pollution created by fast fashion and protect ecosystems for future generations.
