Food security through Malaysia’s homegrown agriculture sector is at severe risk due to adverse water pollution. This severely impacts our local agriculture sector’s ability to produce food due to 70% of the country’s water resources are used for agriculture. Effective water management and rainwater harvesting for irrigation can bring about a relief regarding water shortage issues in the agriculture sector. However traditional method of irrigation is labor intensive, time-consuming, inefficient, causes waterlogging and wastage of water.
